Concrete worktops refurbishment work is something we seem to be getting more and more of these days! We can help you deep clean and completely resurface and polish them up to a high natural shine. Afterwards we will deep seal and saturate the material with protective seals to keep them looking great.
Concrete as a kitchen worktop material is not ideal and requires allot of maintenance to keep them good. Above you can see what can happen to concrete if not sealed and maintained regularly. In the pic the lighter part is badly etched concrete with no sealing products left on it for protection. This damage runs deep and is hard to rectify.
However luckily concrete can be brought back quite well and severe damage will always get allot better. As you can see in the pic above the damaged work surface was completely resurfaced , polished and sealed with a very durable hardening product.
As you can see the process really does make a huge difference to the look of the concrete. The polishing and hardening process closes the pours, hardens the concrete and with thorough professional sealing your smart concrete work surfaces will look how they where intended to look! I do this work all over North London, including Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Highgate, Hamstead, Barnet and surrounding areas.
Concrete lithium hardening
When refurbishing concrete worktops we have the option to apply a hardening solution that sinks into the concrete and makes it more durable. This facilitates polishing and adds density to the concrete making it less porous and more resistant. Not every concrete top needs this in my opinion however its a nice option to have.
Concrete worktop sealing
Its absolutely imperative to have your concrete properly sealed directly after refurbishment to lock everything in. Then as the homeowner you will have to get on the ball with PH neutral cleaning and apply coats of seal as time goes on. I will usually return the day after polishing and resurfacing so that things are nice and dry. I then work as much seal into the concrete as it will take. After its become saturated it is professionally buffed to a flawless finish. This is a pretty good day for the customer to be around to see how the sealing works for future maintenance.
This process for polishing concrete is very similar to that of natural stone and we also polish and refurbish marble , limestone work surfaces too.
